All residents must remove snow and ice from any sidewalks. Failure to comply may result in a summons.
The Denville Police Depatment has begun to recieve a large amount of complaints regarding snow covered sidewalks. All residents are reminded that Denville Township Ordinance #3-4.1 states; any owner or tenant shall remove all snow and ice from all sidewalks abutting a roadway and must also clear a path from the sidewalk to the roadway where two sidewalks meet at an intersection. The removal of snow and ice must be completed within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen. Failure to complete the snow removal will result in a summons being issued.
Although the police department understands there has been a significant amount of snow, it does not excuse residents from clearing sidewalks.
