Details: At approximately 8:20pm on Thursday, February 13, 2014 the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a reported armed robbery that took place at the East Garden Kitchen located at 739 Main Street.
One masked male suspect entered the restaurant and demanded money from an employee of the restaurant while threatening the use of a handgun. The male left on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.
Town of Poughkeepsie patrol officers, detectives and a town K-9 unit were immediately dispatched to the area. The City of Poughkeepsie Police Department also assisted at the scene.
The description of the suspect is as follows:
Black male, 6'1 - 6'2'' tall, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, a black ski mask and black gloves.
