Officers arrested 33 year-old, Jorge David Cardenas for Armed Robbery, using a firearm during the commission of a robbery and felon in possession of a firearm.

On February 12, 2014, at approximately 2247 hours, Turlock Police Department officers responded to Stop N Shop Market located at 1590 Lander Avenue for a robbery. The victim reported that two suspects entered the store and approached the counter. One of the suspects pointed a handgun and demanded money and cigarettes. The two suspects then fled the store on foot. Video surveillance of the incident was reviewed by TPD officers who were able to identify Cardenas as one of the suspects who committed the robbery.

Cardenas was located earlier today coming out of a residence on Angelus Street with two males. Cardenas was immediately apprehended by officers and the other two males were detained. Officers later determined that one of the two males (17 years old) was the suspect who assisted Cardenas during the robbery. The 17 year-old was arrested for robbery.

A handgun matching the description of the one used by Cardenas during the robbery was located in front of the residence on Angelus Street.
