Heavy snow approaching this morning … the heaviest band of snow is currently moving into central NJ with the first round of heavy snow expected mainly
from 6am-1pm; snowfall rates may reach 1-2”/hr during this time. Steady snow will likely change to a period of sleet and then rain in the early afternoon and lighten in intensity for mid to late afternoon. Heading into the evening and overnight, precipitation will become heavier again and transition back to sleet and then another period of moderate to heavy snow. Snowfall rates may again reach 1-2”/hr for a period, especially between 8p-1a before the system exits 1-4am.
