Suspect Arrested for One Count of Theft

Frankfort-Today at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Indiana State Police, Lafayette Post arrested a Frankfort City Police Officer for theft.

Trooper Mike Krueger served an arrest warrant on Randy L. Emery, 48 of Frankfort for One Count of Theft, a Class C Felony. Emery was arrested at his residence and transported to the Clinton County Jail in Frankfort. The warrant stems from an investigation that started on February 7, 2014 with interviews and the collaboration of other evidence to validate the charge.

The investigation, which was conducted by Master Trooper Detective Amy Johnson, of the Indiana State Police Organized Crime and Corruption Unit (OCCU), alleges that Emery was stealing money from Good Oil Company located in Winamac, IN. It is alleged that Emery, while using a Frankfort police car while off duty, was transporting money in a part time job. He was responsible for transport of money to the bank from the Good Oil Company station at I-65 and State road 28 in Clinton County. It is alleged more than $147,000 cash has been taken in the thefts since late summer of last year. The investigation is continuing.

Assisting with the investigation was Master Trooper Detective Joe White and Senior Trooper Detective Andy Shank, both from the Indiana State Police OCCU and Drug Enforcement Section, along with retired Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Schramm and the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office.
