The West Monroe Community Center, at 400 South 5th street, will open tonight at 6pm as a cold weather shelter. It will remain open until 8am Tuesday February 11, 2014.
The West Monroe Police Department will have officers on duty and on call as needed. The West Monroe Police Department would like to remind everyone, to only travel if needed during the winter weather conditions, but if you must:
Watch out for black ice on bridges, overpasses, off-ramps, and shady spots
Leave plenty of room between vehicles
Allow for extra travel time and reduce speeds
