Advisory

Storm Update – 2/5 @ 11:30AM

The bulk of the heavier precipitation is finished, however there may be some lingering snow showers throughout the evening. Sleet and freezing rain will continue into the evening hours, with the possibility of up to 1/10” of ice forming. Temperatures will drop this evening into the 20’s and then into the teens overnight.

The roadways continue to be hazardous and you should only travel for emergency or urgent matters. The combination of snow and ice will make all means of travel very treacherous. Further, with the overnight temperatures dropping into the teens, there is a high probability for black ice on the roads and sidewalks both overnight and through Thursday’s commuting hours. Use caution if you must go out and be prepared. Limiting your travels will assist the highway department in clearing the roadways.

This storm may also cause trees and power lines to fall. Treat all downed wires as live! Be aware for wires that may be buried underneath the snow as well. Report all downed wires to the North Castle Police Department at (914) 273-9500.

An emergency warming shelter will be made available should the need arise. If you require this resource, please contact the North Castle Police Department at (914) 273-9500.
