Minor traffic accident ends with the arrest of the driver for OWI.
On February 2, 2014 at approximately 8:30 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a single vehicle accident on State Road 65 near Mt. Olympus. Sgt. Bruce Vanoven and Deputy Dan Goedde were dispatched to the scene. Deputies found a Brown 2008 Cadillac sitting in a ditch at the intersection of State Road 65 and Mark Ford Road. During a roadside investigation Deputy Dan Goedde suspected the driver Billy W. Perry age 61 of Hazleton was under the influence of an Alcoholic beverage. During a roadside investigation Deputy Goedde administered Field Sobriety Tests as well as a portable breath test. At the conclusion of the roadside investigation Mr. Perry was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI.) Mr. Perry is being held on a $650 bond.
