This morning at 0549 hours, Petaluma Police responded to a report an arson at a residence at 1000 block of Aspen Way. The home owners awoke to the smell of smoke and when they opened their front door they found the "welcome" door mat on fire along with what appeared to be a flammable liquid. The flames caused damage to the floor mat and the trim on the front door. The fire was extinguished without any other damage.
