A local man was arrested on a battery charge Wednesday afternoon following an altercation with his father at their residence.
Jason Daniel Miller, 39, of 253 New Ark Circle, was taken into custody at his residence shortly before 1 p.m. and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.
He was still being held Thursday without bond and is set to appear Feb. 11 in Garland County District Court.
According to reports, Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Ron Stone responded to the residence and spoke to the victim, 68, who stated he and his son, identified as Miller, had got into a fight earlier that morning, around 8 a.m.
The victim, who was “very upset,” said the suspect hit him, knocking his glasses off, and the deputy noted the victim had bruising and cuts on the right side of his face around his eye and a cut to his nose.
The injuries were reportedly minor and no medical treatment was required. The report did not indicate what the fight was about.
Miller was also located at the scene and taken into custody without incident.
