Agents Investigate Remains Found in Bryan County
The Bryan County Sheriff’s Office has requested OSBI assistance in an investigation involving remains found in a rural area of Bryan County. An exact location will not be released at this time. A local resident found a skull Sunday, January 26th. Thursday, January 30th, Bryan County deputies, OSBI agents, an investigator with the state medical examiner’s office, and a representative with the Oklahoma Archeological Survey revisited the area and discovered other skeletal remains.
Investigators believe the body is that of a white male 40 years old or older. The unidentified man likely died between one and five years ago due to the condition of the remains. No missing person’s reports in the area match this man. Therefore, the medical examiner’s office will attempt to extract DNA from the remains and enter it into a national missing person’s database. OSBI Forensic Artist Harvey Pratt may also reconstruct the skull.
If anyone has information to help with this suspicious death investigation or to help identify the man, please call the OSBI hotline at 1-800-522-8017.
