SUSPECT #1: Cabrera, Oliver Basto Jr. 23 year old male, Gilroy Resident
Details:
On 01/30/2014 at approximately 7:50 am, Gilroy Police Officers responded to the 7300th Block of Chestnut Street for an unknown disturbance. At arrival, officers located the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. Medical personnel arrived a short time later to render aid. The victim was transported to an area trauma center via air ambulance where he is expected to survive.
As a result of the investigation conducted by the officers and detectives on scene, it was determine that Suspect Cabrera was responsible for the assault. Suspect Cabrera is known to the victim. This crime was not motivated by any gang affiliation.
Cabrera was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail where he was booked on assault with a deadly weapon charges.
