Press Release:Topsfield Police execute search warrant of residence for alleged drug operation. Two subjects arrested.

On Wednesday, 1/29/14, Topsfield Police Department executed a search warrant at 130 Central St., Topsfield. In relation to an investigation of an alleged drug operation. Located on the premise were a highly sophisticated marijuana cultivation operation and a BHO, butane honey oil, manufacturing operation. Seized as a result were over 18 pounds of marijuana, over 1 pound of BHO, 78 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, some as tall as four feet. In addition to the illegal narcotics, also seized were a large quantity of equipment used in cultivation, manufacturing and distribution of the narcotics.
As a result of the seized items two individuals were arrested. The homeowner, Lani Soo Aldrich, 39 yoa and Robert A. Whittington, 36 yoa, of the same address, were charged with the following:
Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substances Act
Possession of Class C substance, BHO, with Intent to Distribute
Manufacturing of a Class C Substance, BHO
Possession of a Class D Substance, Marijuana, with Intent to Distribute
Cultivation of a Class D Substance
Subject were arranged at the Ipswich District Court on Thursday, 1/30/14 and held pending bail.
