Late night joy ride ends with the arrest of three on theft charges.
On January 29, 2014 at approximately 6:30 a.m., workers from Citation Oil and Gas of Crossville, IL arrived at 5991 South County Road 1950 West in Gibson County to discover that their Argo 6 wheeled all terrain vehicle was missing from the company`s work building. Sgt. Bruce Vanoven was dispatched to the scene and a report was filed. As Sgt. Vanoven was leaving the area a worker for Citation Oil and Gas located the 6 wheeled vehicle and another vehicle about a quarter mile west of the work building.
Sgt. Vanoven approached the scene and took three individuals into custody. Those individuals were transported to the Gibson County Jail.
Those charged were:
Suspect #1
Austin S. Gambrel age 22 of Evansville.
Mr. Gambrel is being charged with
Theft a Class D Felony
Tresspassing a Class A Misdemeanor
Criminal Mischief a Class B Misdemeanor
Mr. Gambrel is being held without bond since he has two outstanding warrants through Vanderburgh County which are no bond warrants.
Suspect #2
Devin M. Pickerill age 21 of Mt. Vernon
Mr. Pickerill is being charged with
Theft a Class D Felony
Tresspassing a Class A Misdemeanor.
Mr. Pickerill is being held on a $1400 bond.
Suspect # 3
William Thomas Russell III age 19 of Mt. Vernon
Mr. Russell is being held on
Possession of Stolen property a D Felony
Minor Consumption a C Misdemeanor
Mr. Russell is being held on a $1200 bond.
