Gardena Police Department officers responded to the area of El Segundo Blvd and Vermont Ave at approximately 1345 HRS. Upon their arrival, it was discovered that a fatal traffic collision had occurred in the westbound lanes of El Segundo Blvd, west of Vermont Ave (LA County jurisdiction). CHP responded to investigate the fatal collision while GPD units assisted with some traffic control. All traffic on El Segundo Blvd, from Vermont Ave to Budlong Ave (eastbound and westbound) is being redirected onto Vermont Ave and Budlong Ave until the CHP has concluded its investigation. Expect delays.
