A local man was arrested early Tuesday after allegedly punching a female family member in the back during an altercation between them.
Christopher James Nosler, 32, of 109 Wolfridge Court, was taken into custody at his residence around 8:30 a.m. and charged with third-degree assault on a family or household member, a misdemeanor punishable by up to 30 days in jail.
Nosler was still being held without bond Wednesday and is set to appear Feb. 4 in district court.
According to reports, shortly before 7 a.m., GCSD Deputy Toby Edwards was dispatched to the residence regarding a domestic disturbance and spoke to the victim, 19, who stated Nosler was throwing her things out in the yard and had locked her out of the house.
The suspect was not at the residence when Edwards first got there, but he returned a short time later. The deputy told them they needed to separate for a little bit and stay in separate rooms and they agreed.
Shortly before 8:30 a.m., Edwards was called back to the residence and this time the victim stated Nosler had punched her. She stated he had poured his soda on her, threw her against the dryer and punched her in the upper left part of her back. The deputy later confirmed the victim had redness on her back.
The suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
