The West Covina Police Department will be conducting its first ever Gun Buy Back Program on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Bring in a functioning handgun or rifle and in return, receive a $50 gift card per gun. The guns can be received from anyone regardless of where they reside, no questions asked. The gift cards will be issued for a major retailer.
This event will take place at the West Covina City Hall parking lot located at 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The gun buyback program, which has been successful in many cities across the country, was requested by the West Covina City Council in an effort to reduce the chances of those guns finding their way into the wrong hands as a result of theft.
Participants in this buyback program are being asked to transport all firearms unloaded and in the trunk of your vehicle.
