Tues, Jan. 21 Update: Colby Fire Glendora & Azusa areas of Angeles National Forest

As of 10:00AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2014, firefighters report 1,952 acres were burned, and the “Colby Fire” is 95% contained.

San Gabriel Canyon and Highway 39 was closed again today (Tues, Jan. 21) until about (Wed, 7PM) by Cal Trans at the forest entrance due to falling rocks. Public safety is a priority. Please use caution.

The "Colby Fire" brush fire broke out in the Glendora area of the Angeles National Forest. It was first reported at 5:52AM on Thursday, January 16, 2014. The fire moved into the Los Angeles County area of Glendora, Angeles National Forest, and nearby Azusa.
