McDowell County Sheriff’s Office investigators need the public’s help identifying the suspect who attempted to break into an ATM machine at North Cove Truck Service, on U.S. 221 North, over the weekend.
Phillip Allen reported that someone broke into the business sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11 and attempted to pry his way into the ATM. The suspect did not get anything but caused $7,000 worth of damage.
The alleged perpetrator and his vehicle were caught on surveillance camera at North Cove Truck Service.
He is described as a white male with dark hair and a heavy build wearing blue jeans, a blue zip-up hoodie and black shoes. He and another person left the area in a newer model blue four-door car, which appears to be a Honda or Hyundai.
