Advisory

SLOW DOWN! Speed is one of the most common factors in accidents.

Traffic collisions are an unfortunate reality when driving a motor vehicle.  These collisions are referred to as “Accidents” because more often than not, one of the involved parties made a mistake and it truly was an “Accident.”  A recent study conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration found that speeding is one of the most prevalent factors in car crashes.  Unfortunately, when an accident occurs and one or both of the involved vehicles are speeding, reaction time is diminished, and the likelihood that the collision will result in a serious injury or death increases.

The Torrance Police Department Traffic Division would like to remind you that accidents will happen.  However, together we can minimize serious accidents by slowing down and always driving at or below the speed limit.  Bottom line, driving mistakes don’t have to be fatal mistakes.
