Deputies arrest Billy J. Barnett, charged with Domestic Battery 3rd after allegedly attacking his girlfriend.

A Pearcy man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly attacking his girlfriend at her residence in front of her son.
Billy Joe Barnett, 33, who lists an address of 211 Tenor Place, was taken into custody shortly before 2:30 p.m. at 129-B Caraway Terrace and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.
He was initially held without bond but had bonded out by late Friday morning and is set to appear Jan. 28 in Garland County District Court.
According to the affidavit, around 2 p.m., GCSD Deputy Matthew Wharton was dispatched to the Caraway Terrace residence in reference to a domestic disturbance and upon arrival made contact with the victim, 31, the suspect, identified as Barnett, and the victim’s son, 12, who reportedly witnessed the incident.
The victim stated Barnett, who is her boyfriend and father of two of her children, began arguing with her and then struck her several times on the head and right arm.
Barnett denied striking the victim, but the deputy spoke to the son who stated Barnett hit his mother several times on the arm and head and slammed her head onto the dashboard of a vehicle in the carport.
Wharton noted the victim had a small cuts on her forehead and right cheek and redness and swelling to her arm. Barnett was taken into custody without incident.
