Anthony Conner and Donny Stansberry charged with scrapping stolen metal at McDowell business 
Detective Nathan Mace of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 33-year-old Anthony Lee Conner, of Elaine Street in Nebo, and 29-year-old Donny Aaron Stansberry, of Burnsville, each with two counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense.
Mace said, on Dec. 16 and 17, the pair stole scrap metal from Mitchell County and sold it at Metal Recycling Services, on U.S. 221 North in McDowell, for a total of $224.40.
They also face charges in Mitchell County.
