WIND CHILL ADVISORY
The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for portions of North and Central Georgia effective 11am Monday thru 1pm Tuesday.
Winds 10 to 20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH are expected during this time along with dangerously cold temperatures.
Wind chill readings as low as 11 degrees below zero and colder in higher elevations.
Adequate shelter considerations should be taken now for pets, livestock and agricultural interests.
If you must spend anytime outside Monday and Tuesday make sure that all exposed skin is covered. It is strongly advised to dress in layers and wear a hat and gloves. There is a high risk of frost bite and hypothermia if these precautions are not taken.
Instructions:
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds will combine to generate low wind chills.
This will lead to Hypothermia and Frost Bite if preparedness actions are not taken. Dress warmly including a hat and gloves. Limit time spent outdoors. Provide adequate shelter for pets and ensure livestock is properly cared for.
