Pedestrian Struck by M.T.A. Train

On Saturday, January 4, 2014, at approximately 4:15 P.M. the South Pasadena Police Department responded to a call of a pedestrian being struck by a Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (M.T.A.) train (Gold Line) at the intersection of Pasadena Avenue and Monterey Road in South Pasadena.

Responding officers arrived along with South Pasadena Fire Department Paramedics within approximately two minutes. All possible life saving measures were attempted and the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Investigators responded to this incident and are currently handling the investigation. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending a next of kin notification. The pedestrian is a male adult approximately 58 years of age.
