Sgt. Vasselian's procession route.
The following is Sgt. Daniel Vasselian’s procession route for Tuesday, as provided to us from Quealy and Son’s Funeral Home. Please understand that this may change based on the wishes of the family, and if that happens we will get that out to you a.s.a.p.
Route 58 South (Adams St.), entering Abington from Weymouth
Pausing briefly at the family home on Adams Street
Left onto Wales Street
Right onto Railroad Street
Right onto Route 139
Left onto Route 18
Left at high school
Left onto Washington Street
Pause briefly at the Abington Veteran’s Memorial on Washington St.
Proceed to the Quealy and Son’s Funeral Home
We continue to anticipate Sgt. Vasselian’s arrival into Abington sometime between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm on Tuesday, and to assist you in planning the Abington Police will post to Twitter and Facebook updates as the procession travels from Boston’s Logan International Airport.
If possible, please try to park on adjacent and adjoining streets to the procession route. I know this might not be possible in some locations, but if you can, please! Please make sure you are pulling off the roadway and you are leaving enough room for emergency vehicles to get through as needed. If you are bringing young children, please remember the roadway will still be open for travel so please keep a close eye on them. Please try to fill in any spots where there might not be as many people so that Sgt. Vasselian gets the honor he deserves!
