Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man that occurred on Wednesday, December 25, 2013, in the 700 block of West Laurel Street, Compton.

Detectives have learned that at approximately 8:57 PM, deputies from Compton Sheriff's Station were in the area regarding a disturbance call when they heard the sound of gunshots. The deputies drove in the direction of the gunshots and when they reached the location, they found the victim, lying in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
