Audrey Lee Black and Michael Dewayne Clark, both of Nebo, charged in multiple break-ins and thefts

Investigators with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged a pair of suspects in multiple break-ins and thefts totaling nearly $19,000.
Detectives Billie Brown, Andy Manis and Paul Alkire combined charged 44-year-old Audrey Lee Black, of Muddy Creek Road in Nebo, with five felony counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering, one count of felony possession of burglary tools and one count of misdemeanor damage to property.
They also charged 47-year-old Michael Dewayne Clark, of Muddy Creek Road in Nebo, with three felony counts each of breaking and entering and larceny after breaking and entering and one felony count of possession of burglary tools.
Both suspects were charged in a break-in to the home of Jan Hicks, of Hidden View Loop in Marion, on Oct. 23, where $10,000 worth of property was taken, including guns, tools, computer equipment, jewelry, musical instruments, antiques and household goods.
The pair was charged in the Dec. 5 breaking and entering of a residence on Burma Road East in Nebo owned by Leon Paul Nix. He reported $5,880 worth of property missing, including eight paint sprayers, a paint buffer, a jack and hand tools.
Black and Clark were charged with breaking into the Muddy Creek Road home of Terry Addison on Dec. 6 and stealing a handgun, jewelry, knives and coins worth $820.
Detectives say Black was solely responsible for two additional break-ins.
She allegedly entered Addison’s residence a second time on Dec. 6, caused $3,000 worth of damage to the walls and stole electrical wire and an air conditioner with a total value of $900.
Black was also arrested in connection with a breaking and entering at the home of Dena Revis, of Muddy Creek Road in Nebo, on Dec. 9, where she allegedly swiped a fire safe, money, prescription medication and a handgun worth a total of $830.
Some of the property has been recovered in these cases.
