Severe Weather Expected Early Sunday

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Ok is forecasting the potential of severe weather for Northern Georgia to begin as early as 3AM Sunday morning in advance of a cold front. The greatest threat area will be across NorthWest Georgia during the time between 4AM and 10AM. Storms could begin to develop after midnight and may reach severe limits as well.

The main hazards associated with the storms will be tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail and heavy rain.

Instructions:

Due to the nocturnal nature of this storm system, there is great concern most people will be sleeping when this begins to occur and many may go without warning. If you have a NOAA weather radio or other alerting device that monitors tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm statements it is urged to have these devices powered on during the overnight hours to stay weather aware.

Continue to monitor local media outlets for further information.
