BENTON, MISSOURI - Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston man is in custody for felony domestic violence.
Tim A. Mooney (40) of 32 Elizabeth Road was arrested by Scott County Deputy Danny Finley after the Sheriff’s Office received a call to the residence on Thursday, December 19, 2013.
It was alleged that Mooney attempted to assault his spouse, Gayla Mooney, inside the residence. Gayla Mooney reported that she attempted to flee into the back yard, but was caught and dragged back inside where the assault continued. She was eventually able to escape and flee in her car.
Sheriff Walter states that domestic violence is a pattern of behavior used to establish power and control over another person through fear and intimidation, and his office will continue to make arrests in these cases. Mooney has been charged with the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault in the Second Degree. Bond has been set by the court at $5,000.00 cash or surety.
