Effective 12/24, all animal licensing will be conducted at SPD, 1315 N 23rd St. Licensing is available 7am-11pm daily

Effective December 24th, 2013, pet licensing will be conducted by the Sheboygan Police Dept. All animal licenses will be sold at the front desk of the Sheboygan Police Dept. at 1315 N 23rd St. Animal licenses will no longer be sold at the City of Sheboygan Finance Department.

Dog, Cat, Miniature Pig and Animal Fancier permits will all be available for purchase at the Police Desk. Documentation for rabies vaccinations and spayed/neuter status are still required for all Dog and Cat licenses.

The Police Desk is located in the front lobby of the Sheboygan Police Dept., 1315 N. 23rd St., Sheboygan, WI. Animal license services will be available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. daily.

Every dog kept in the City of Sheboygan must have an annual license prior to April 1st, or by the time the dog reaches five months of age, or within 30 days of acquiring ownership.

Every cat kept in the City of Sheboygan must have an annual license prior to April 1st, or by the time the cat reaches thirteen months of age, or within 30 days of acquiring ownership.

Neutered or spayed dog licenses are $10.00.
Unneutered or unspayed dog licenses are $15.00.

Neutered or spayed cat licenses are $5.25.
Unneutered or unspayed cat licenses are $12.25.

Neutered or spayed miniature pig licenses are $3.25.
Unneutered or unspayed miniature pig licenses are $8.25.

A current rabies vaccination certificate MUST be presented to purchase a license. On April 1st of each year and thereafter if any owner is delinquent in taking out a current license, there shall be an additional penalty fee of $5.00 for each license.

The Police Dept. will also accept applications and process Animal Fancier permits. No person may keep, harbor, shelter or possess more than three domestic animals including fowl over the age of five months unless the person holds a valid animal fancier permit. There shall be no more than one animal fancier permit issued per dwelling unit.

Animal Fancier : $3.00 for permits on unlicensed animals.

Animal Fancier : No fee if animals are licensed and application is made prior to April 1st.

Late Fee: $5.00


Animal licenses for Cats, Dogs and Minature Pigs are due by April 1st or by the time the animal reaches 5 months in age. For animals requireing a license in which the application is made after April 1st, a $5.00 late fee will be applied to the cost of the license.
