Moses Lake man shot possibly over stolen cell phone; one person in custody, two sought

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (19DEC2013) -- Grant County Detectives have made an arrest in the case of a Moses Lake man found shot last week near Hiawatha Road and Road 5-Northeast, and are seeking two others in connection with the case.

Jordan S. Wiester, 21 of Moses Lake, is lodged in the Grant County Jail after being arrested Dec. 18 on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder with premeditation, and unlawful possession of a firearm (convicted felon).

The arrest comes during the investigation of the shooting of Dale Olmos, who was found around 8 a.m. Dec. 11 in a field near the 2800 block of Road 5-NE. He had been shot in the head. Detectives believe Olmos was shot because others thought he had stolen a cell phone from another person.

Detectives are also seeking two other persons in connection with the shooting:

1. Suspect – probable cause for arrest: JOSE RIVERA, age 16, sought for attempted first-degree murder. Street name “Kriminal”. He is a Hispanic male with light complexion, standing 5’8” tall and weighing 200 lbs. He has black hair and blue eyes.

Although it is not routine GCSO practice to release the names of juvenile suspects, GCSO will release the identity of juvenile suspects who we feel pose a threat to public safety. In this case, we believe Rivera does pose a threat.

2. Person of Interest: GILBERT WILLIAMSON, 46-year-old white male, 6’0” tall and weighing 220 lbs. He has hazel eyes and short brown hair.

Anyone with information on Rivera or Williamson should not attempt to detain them. Rather, people should call the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, 509-762-1160, or send information to [email protected]. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
