One wounded in Warden shooting
NEWS FROM WARDEN POLICE
WARDEN, Wash. (19DEC2013) -- Warden Police are investigating a Wednesday night shooting which sent one person to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Around 9 p.m. Dec. 18, Warden Police received a call from the Euro Restaurant and Lounge, 103 South Main Street, whose bartender heard two gunshots outside the bar. Arriving officers found Alfredo Mendoza, 31, standing outside the bar with a cut to his lip. Officers believe Mendoza had been involved in a physical altercation. Mendoza was checked by Fire District 4 EMTs, declined treatment, and was uncooperative with the investigation.
About an hour later, Junior Ramos, 35 of Moses Lake, arrived at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with a single non-life threatening gunshot wound to the upper arm. He had been driven to the hospital via private vehicle. Police believe the two incidents are related. It is not clear if the incident is gang-related; however, Mendoza & Ramos have been affiliated with the same criminal street gang, East Side Familia.
The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call the Warden Police Department, 509-762-1160.
