Gas Station Robbery/Car Burglaries - Vista
The Vista Sheriff's Station wants your help in identifying and locating two suspects who burglarized several cars and robbed a gas station. One of the suspects also attacked a gas station employee with a baseball bat.
It happened just before 6:00 p.m. at the Shell Gas Station in the 100 block of North Emerald Drive on Tuesday, December 3rd.
Sheriff's Investigators say the two suspects walked into the gas station's convenience store. One of them pointed the bat at a clerk and demanded "stuff." The clerk fought back, but the suspect punched him repeatedly in the face and hit him in the arm with the bat.
The suspects took off with five gas gift cards. Since the gift cards hadn't been activated, they aren't worth anything. The suspects also took some other items from the store.
Investigators say the suspects also broke into seven cars in the area before walking into the gas station.
The suspects, both described as Hispanic around 18-years old, were captured on the gas station's surveillance camera. The images of Suspect #1 show him with and without a hat.
If you have any information on the suspects, call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. An up to $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anonymous e-mail and text messages can also be sent in via www.sdcrimestoppers.com.
Since the suspects have been breaking into cars, be sure to lock your vehicle and roll up the windows at all times. Also, never leave any valuables in plain sight.
