As with any storm forecast there is constant communication with the Chief of Police, Director of Public Works, the Superintendent of Schools and the Office of the Mayor to ensure your safety. Weather forecasters predicted a swift moving storm through our area early today, but snow and freezing rain continued into the early evening hours and longer than anticipated. The drop in temperatures and the duration of the storm has resulted in hazardous road conditions that will likely continue throughout the night. Road crews will continue to work but residents are asked to stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary. The below freezing temperatures increases the potential for black ice and hazardous roads throughout the evening and into the early morning commute. Additional alerts will be issued if warranted.
