WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for the Borough of Englishtown and Surrounding Communities from 0600 hours to 1600 hours tomorrow, Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...ONE TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED DURING THE MORNING. LEFTOVER ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE DURING THE AFTERNOON IN EAST CENTRAL AND COASTAL NORTHEAST NEW JERSEY... PARTICULARLY MIDDLESEX AND MONMOUTH COUNTIES WHERE ISOLATED 3 OR 4 INCH STORM TOTALS MAY OCCUR.

TIMING...SNOW WILL DEVELOP BETWEEN 5 AM AND 7 AM AND END FROM WEST TO EAST BETWEEN 1 PM AND 4 PM.

WINDS...WILL BE LIGHT.

IMPACTS...SNOW WILL BE FALLING DURING THE MORNING COMMUTE WITH TEMPERATURES MAINLY IN THE MID TO UPPER 20S. ALL UNTREATED SURFACES WILL BE SLIPPERY AND HAZARDOUS. PLAN ON MORNING TRAVEL DELAYS AND LEAVE EARLIER TO REACH YOUR DESTINATION ON TIME. TRAVEL CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE CONSIDERABLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON AS THE SNOW TAPERS OFF AND TEMPERATURES RISE ABOVE FREEZING.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES...AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

IMPACT: Travel conditions will be affected by the weather conditions. Untreated surfaces will be slippery and hazardous. Due caution should be exercised while traveling through the affected areas.
