DATE OF RELEASE: December 16, 2013
At 0653 hours this morning, West Covina Police received a phone call from Citrus Valley Health Partners, Queen of the Valley Hospital in West Covina regarding a report of a death. It was learned that the deceased was Joe Camacho, 41 of Ontario. He had been transported this morning by West Covina Fire Department Paramedics from his girlfriend’s residence in West Covina to the hospital after experiencing difficulty breathing. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
Joe Camacho was a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor and Competitor, and had just competed in Long Beach this past weekend.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has been assigned to this investigation.
