DATE OF RELEASE: December 11, 2013
On Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at approximately 1120 hours, the West Covina Police Department received a 9-1-1 call regarding a burglary that had just occurred in the 600 block of S. Charvers Avenue. The victim told arriving officers he confronted two male Black suspects inside his home upon entering. Both suspects fled and the victim began calling 9-1-1 on his cell phone. However, one suspect returned to the victim and forcibly took the phone away. Both suspects fled in a white Lexus parked in front of the residence. The victim was not injured.
The victim added when he first arrived home he noticed the Lexus parked in front of his home and, because he didn’t recognize it, he wrote down the license plate number.
The West Covina PD Forensic Identification Unit (FIU) responded to the location and conducted an extensive investigation. During this processing of the crime scene, the FIU was able to locate and lift latent fingerprints. Subsequent follow-up investigation conducted by West Covina Police Detectives led them to a location in the 2700 block of Tola Street in Altadena. Detectives arrested two suspects without incident. The suspect vehicle was also located at the scene.
Arrested for Burglary and Robbery were:
Joshua Washington, 18 of Altadena and is currently being held on $50,000.00 bail
Terrance Hall, 18 of Altadena and is currently being held without bail
Both suspects are scheduled to appear at West Covina Superior court on Friday, December 13, 2013 at 8:30 am.
