On 12/6/13 at 0737 hours, the Newark Police Department responded to Cherry St/Redeker Pl on a report of an auto versus pedestrian accident. The pedestrian is a 14 year old female who was walking eastbound in the crosswalk when she was struck by a southbound vehicle. The 14 year old female was transported to a local trauma center with major injuries. The 65 year old male driver is cooperating with the police investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. The Newark Police Department Traffic Division is investigating this collision.
