Owensville man arrested on several counts after domestic situation involving firearms.
On December 4, 2013 at 8:07 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a call from a subject who requested a welfare check be done on a female at the residence of 10108 West 450 South. The caller reported that the female at the residence and her husband had been arguing a lot lately and their relationship had been known to be explosive in the past. Gibson County Deputies as well as Indiana Conservation Officers who were in the area were dispatched to the scene to check on the welfare of the female. Upon arriving the female and her husband were separated and an investigation into her wellbeing was conducted. During this investigation it was revealed that the husband Joe W. Sharp age 62 of Rural Owensville had prior to officers arrival fired shots within the home in an attempt to intimidate his wife. At the conclusion of the investigation Joe W. Sharp was transported to the Gibson County Jail where he was charged with:
2 Counts of Criminal Recklessness with a firearm
1 Count of Criminal Confinement
1 Count of pointing a firearm at another person.
Mr. Sharp remains in the Gibson County Jail where he is being held without bond.
