INET busts Moses Lake man for meth possession with intent to deliver

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (02DEC2013) – A 35-year-old Moses Lake man is facing drug charges stemming from a month-long investigation.

Homero Ruiz was arrested Nov. 26 by Grant County’s Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team, Moses Lake Police and agents from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Authorities raided his home in the 9000 block of Sunny Drive and seized several ounces of methamphetamine, cash and a vehicle.

Ruiz faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, with a charging enhancement since the crimes allegedly occurred within 1000 feet of a school. If he's convicted, the school zone enhancement alone carries a sentence of at least two years in prison.

The arrest of Ruiz was the result of great teamwork by INET Detectives, Moses Lake Police, and ICE.

INET works diligently to combat the distribution of illegal narcotics in Moses Lake and Grant County in cooperation with local agencies. INET is supervised by the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and includes detectives from the Sheriff’s Office, Washington State Patrol, Quincy Police Department and the Moses Lake Police Department.
