Deputies suspect Moses Lake arson fire was to cover up burglary

MOSES LAKE, Wash. (02DEC2013) – Investigators from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office and the Grant County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating a suspected arson fire.

Around 1:00 p.m. Nov. 29, Fire District 5 answered a call for a structure fire at a home at 13553 Baseline .5 Southeast (Baseline-point-five-southeast). Evidence at the scene suggests a burglary happened at the home and a fire happened afterward. Property missing from the home includes guns and precious metals valued at $20,000. Fire caused about $100,000 damage. The homeowner was out of town when the incident occurred. The fire and burglary are under investigation and no more information is available today.
