Evansville woman arrested fro DUI on Thanksgiving eve.

On November 27, 2013 at 8:36 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a call from a person who advised that they had checked on a woman walking on US 41 near Tri State Speedway. The reporting party advised that the female was disoriented and advised them that she was looking for her car. Dispatch sent law enforcement officers to the area to investigate the incident. Upon arriving in the area Deputy U.B. Smith and Haubstadt Officer Kevin Cox located a woman just east of US 41 on County Road 150 East. The woman was identified as Lisa B. Kost age 51 of Evansville. Ms. Kost advised officers that she was walking from a vehicle that she had been driving. Officer’s believed that she may have been in an accident. While Deputy Smith spoke with Ms. Kost her Black 2006 Chevy passenger car was found in the area. Officers advised Deputy Smith that an alcoholic beverage was found in plain view inside the vehicle. Deputy Smith administered Standard Field Sobriety tests and a portable breath test to Ms. Kost. As a result of those tests Ms. Kost was transported to the Gibson County Jail where she was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a prior conviction for OWI happening within the last five years. Ms. Kost remains in custody on a $750 bond.

Assisting Deputy Smith in this investigation was Haubstadt Officer Kevin Cox and Sheriff’s Deputy Dan Goedde.
