ROAD CLOSURES throughout downtown Los Altos on Sunday Dec. 1st for Festival of Lights Parade

The Festival of Lights Parade will take place this Sunday, December 1 in Downtown Los Altos!  The parade will make its way from First Street down State Street to Main Street and then weave back up First Street to Whitney Street and finally Third Street. The Parade will end at Plaza South.  See attached map for a graphic rendering of the event boundaries and other valuable information.

Traffic Impact

All North Parking Plazas between First and Third Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning Sunday, December 1 at 6:00 a.m.  Parking will be restricted at noon on First Street from Shasta Street to Main Street.  Main Street, State Street, First Street, Whitney Street, Plaza Central (from First to Fourth Streets) and Plaza South (between Second and Third Streets) will close at 4:00 p.m.  All streets and parking plazas are expected to fully re-open by 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1.

Parking

Parking will be very limited downtown, please be mindful of the red and white “No Parking” signs, road closure barricades and warning signs.  Any unlawfully parked vehicles will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Handicapped Parking will be available behind Wells Fargo Bank located at 100 Main Street.

Rain Date

If there is a chance the parade may be cancelled due to rain, visit www.losaltosparade.com; the Festival of Lights Committee will post their decision by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1.

If the parade rains out, Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. has been identified as the alternate date and time for the parade to take place.
