The administrative offices of the McDowell County Sheriff's Office will be closed Thursday, Nov. 28 and Friday, Nov. 29 for Thanksgiving. No handgun purchase permit applications or concealed weapon applications will be taken those days. The offices will reopen Monday, Dec. 2 at 8:30 a.m. During the holiday, you will still be able to call the Sheriff's Office at 652-2235 for any assistance.
