A Jessieville man and woman were arrested Thursday afternoon on theft and trespassing charges after they were allegedly seen stealing a chain saw and gasoline from another Jessieville man’s property.
James Clayborn Parks, 37, and Selina Kaye Tidwell, 32, both of 145 Glazener Lane, were taken into custody at their residence shortly before 3:30 p.m. and charged with misdemeanor counts of theft of property, punishable by up to one year in jail, and criminal trespass, punishable by up to 30 days.
They were both later released on $1,500 bond each and are set to appear Dec. 3 in Garland County District Court.
According to Garland County sheriff’s reports, the victim, 37, who lives on Little Blakely Creek Road, states he had dropped his daughter, 12, off at their residence and left.
A short time later, his daughter called him and said that a white male and white female in a black Chevrolet extended cab pickup had driven onto their property and she saw them take a chain saw and 5-gallon can of gasoline and then leave.
The victim was driving back to the house and spotted the suspect vehicle and called the sheriff ’s department, giving the dispatcher the license plate number of the vehicle, which was registered to a man living at the Glazener Lane residence.
Deputy Zach Shaffer had responded and located the suspects at the residence. The daughter was driven by the suspects’ residence and reportedly identified Parks and Tidwell as the two people she had seen trespassing and stealing the items.
