Twin Peaks Detectives recovered the bronze dove stolen from the Jeremiah MacKay statue in September.

DATE/TIME: November 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC496 Possession of Stolen Property, PC487 Grand Theft

LOCATION: 30000 block of Illinois Street in Lake Elsinore

SUSPECT: 13 year old male

VICTIM: Lake Arrowhead Village


SUMMARY:
Between Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 4:30 p.m. and Monday, September 9, 2013, at 6:00 a.m., a bronze dove was stolen from the granite base of the Jeremiah MacKay statue in the Lake Arrowhead Village.

On November 19, 2013, a citizen contacted the Twin Peaks Station to report a male juvenile was posting on the photo sharing website, Instagram, bragging he had stolen the dove. Although the juvenile had used an alias, detectives identified him and arrested him at a middle school in Lake Elsinore. A search of his residence was conducted and the dove was located in the juvenile's bedroom inside a shoebox.

Both the juvenile and the parent were issued citations.
