On Saturday November 02, 2013 at approximately 12:30 p.m. a 25 year old male victim was robbed at gun point and shot at as he was exiting the Eastland Mall. The suspect, later identified as KRISTOPHER KAIVON PRATT, was armed with a semi-automatic handgun as he robbed the victim of the newly released Air Jordan gym shoes. During the armed robbery, the victim was able to flee on foot at which time PRATT shot at the victim with a semi-automatic handgun. There were no injuries reported during the robbery. PRATT then fled the scene in a vehicle.
The Harper Woods Police Department immediately conducted an extensive investigation and had PRATT identified that same day. PRATT was then located and arrested by the Harper Woods Police Department in the City of Detroit. At the time of PRATT'S arrest, the Harper Woods Police Department recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun that was in PRATT'S possession. It was later determined this recovered handgun had been reported stolen in the City of Detroit. Three other subjects were also arrested in conjunction with this investigation.
CHRISTOPHER KAIVON PRATT is a 19 year old Detroit resident.
PRATT was formally arraigned in the 32-A District Court this morning with the following:
Count 1: Robbery-Armed.
Count 2: Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder.
Count 3: Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault).
Count 4: Weapons-Felony Firearm.
PRATT faces up to life in prison for these charges. Bond was set at $75,000.00 cash. PRATT has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled for November 20, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. in 32-A District Court in front of Judge Roger LaRose.
Harper Woods detectives continue to investigate this case.
