Traffic stop leads deputy to methamphetamine and paraphernalia; Spruce Pine man charged 
Deputy Jason Cook of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Chad Julius Clark, 33, of Rockdale Estates in Spruce Pine, with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 5:19 a.m. Monday, Cook stopped a van on Catawba Avenue in Old Fort because the vehicle had no taillights. As part of his investigation, the deputy searched the van and located drug paraphernalia and a bag containing a small quantity of methamphetamine.
Clark was also issued a citation for driving while license revoked.
