Press Release regarding a major traffic collision that occurred on 11-04-13
On November 04, 2013, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a major injury traffic collision at the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Redondo Beach Boulevard in the City of Torrance.
On arrival, officers discovered that a yellow Honda motorcycle ridden by a 20-year-old male, traveling northbound on Prairie Avenue collided with the curb and a newspaper stand on the east sidewalk. The motorcycle continued north on Prairie Avenue colliding into the rear of a Toyota Sienna van which was stopped for the red signal at Redondo Beach Boulevard.
The motorcyclist, who sustained major injuries, was treated by Torrance Fire Department personnel at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The driver of the Toyota Sienna was not injured in the collision.
