Minooka High School sent this message to the community on 10/31 at 8:30 a.m.

MCHS would like to share the following information with all families.

Late last evening, school officials were notified by the Minooka Police Department that a threat regarding MCHS was posted on a social media channel. We have since been working in cooperation with Minooka Police Department and Channahon Police Department to investigate this threat and have determined it to not be viable.

Members of the school district staff are continuing to work with the Minooka Police Department and the Channahon Police Department to bring closure to this matter, and to also continue to provide a safe and secure learning environment for all students and staff. As a precaution, additional members of the Channahon Police Department were present at South Campus this morning.

Student safety and security is a priority at MCHS. If you need additional assistance, please contact the main office at your child's MCHS campus. Thank you.

Please note, extra Channahon Police Officers were posted at South Campus as a precaution. We are working to find the source of the threat. Due to the additional police presence, many rumors are being circulated. School is in session and operating as usual.
